The Buffer and Floor are Index-Linked Segment Options subject to a 0.95% annual Segment Fee.2
The Cap Rate and Participation Rate are used in combination to determine Segment Credits when the Index Change is positive. The Cap Rate establishes the maximum positive Index Change used to calculate Segment Credits for Index-Linked Segment Options before the Participation Rate is applied. The Participation Rate is a percentage that is multiplied by a positive Index Change after the Cap Rate is applied. The Participation Rate is guaranteed to never be less than 100%.
Bailout Rates
If the declared Cap Rate, Participation Rate or Annual Interest Rate for an elected Segment Option at the Initial Segment Start Date is lower than the Bailout Rate, the Contract may be canceled within 60 days after the Contract Issue Date. In this event, the Purchase Payment less any Withdrawals will be returned.
Bailout Cap Rates listed as “N/A” indicate an uncapped, or unlimited, Bailout Cap Rate. If a Cap Rate other than uncapped is applied to the Segment Option on the Initial Segment Start Date, any Contract which elected that Segment Option would be eligible to use the Bailout cancellation provision.
